Raining

Abbey grabbed her new red boat. "There are big deep puddles in the driveway." she called out to her mother. "I am going outside to play with my new red boat."

"It is raining outside," said Mother. "Your feet will get wet."

Abbey went to her room. She pulled and she tugged, then she stomped and she jumped. "I have my new green boots on," she said as she grabbed her new red boat. "Now I can go out and play."

"It is raining outside," said Mother. "Your clothes will get wet."

Abbey went to her room. She wiggled and she squirmed into her blue and white polka-dotted raincoat. Then she buttoned the big round black buttons.

"Now I can go outside and play with my new red boat," said Abbey.

"It is raining outside," said Mother. "Your hair will get wet."

Abbey went to her room. She looked under her bed. She looked in her closet. She looked behind her bedroom door. "There you are," said Abbey as she reached for her big blue umbrella. She pushed and she pulled until her blue umbrella popped open.

Abbey ran to the door. "Now I can go outside and play. My feet will not get wet. My clothes will not get wet. My hair will not get wet."

"The sun is shinning warm and bright," said Mother. "It is a great day to go out and play."

Abbey unbuttoned the big round black buttons of her blue and white polka-dotted raincoat. She wiggled out of her raincoat and hung it in her closet. She pushed and she pulled her big blue umbrella until it closed and put it back behind her bedroom door.

"Now I can go outside and play with my new red boat," said Abbey. "I do not need my raincoat. I do not need an umbrella. I do need my new green boots to keep my feet dry. I am going to have a lot of fun with my new red boat."
